Martial Arts requires discipline and dedication. These traits carry over to daily life.

Practicing and competing help develope mental focus. Participate often.

Win or lose always show sportsmanship. We are all members of the Jiu-Jitsu community.

Fun for the entire family!

Grapplefest's pointing system was implemented in 2009 in response to how other organizations handled their pointing and super-fights. It seems other organizations award points for competitors placings but don't actually award anything, just your name on a database. Some even charge you! to have your name appear on their website.

Super-fights are often invite only, invites go to friends or gym owners who support the organizer's endeavors - favoritism. The super-fights award winner takes all prizes.

Grapplefest strives to be unique with it's pointing system which awards competitors for continuing with the sport and the Grapplefest tournament. It is a merit based system which awards points, which when 5000 are reached, qualifies those competitors to compete for cash and prizes. There's no favoritism, no picking and choosing who gets in and who doesn't; Everyone has equal opportunity.

Rather than "winner takes all" Grapplefest will award cash and prizes to all placers 1st-4th! As more people reach the 5000 point mark we will add weight classes so more competitors can actually share in the winnings.

We recently told you about the 25 competitors who have hit the 5000 point mark. The following 30 competitors have 2500 or more points and are potentially one tournament away:
